Manaslu Tsum Valley trek

Manaslu Tsum valley trek is, unknown and undiscovered to everyone.it finally comes under un-exploration initiation taken by TAAN (Trekking Agent Association of Nepal). beautiful yet untouched by any trekkers. This scenic and panoramic landscape is in Gorkha District which holds historic background of whole Nepal’s Shah Dynasty. Mountains, Culture, Tradition, Landscape and adventure is what specify this trekking area.

Tsum, derived from Tibetan word Tsombo means vivid. Tsum valley has more than 5000m mountain and stretched up to northern territory of Nepal border land to Tibet. A beautiful Trail, newly opened and virgin for all the trekkers. passing through beautiful villages. Entering into restricted area with special permit takes you to the heart of cultural and traditional hub where you will see the real and true image of ancient culture untouched by outer world. Chumchet and Chhekampar are one of the most remote village  in Gorkha District. This area is just opened by October 2007.

The altitude so varies from 1905m to 5093m at Ngula Dhojhyang Pass on  the Tibetan border. Traditionally, Tsum Valley was cultural district area called ‘Tsum Tso Chucksums’ which refer to as thirteen provinces and ruled as a single territory. This hidden valley is surrounded by Mountains called Boudha Himal, Himal Chuli(7893m), Ganesh Himal(7140m), Churke Himal and Sringi Himal. The Tsum valley is so remote that its ancient traces are still present. The people of this area still practice polyandry system. They have unique culture, tradition and their own dialect. Many Tsumbas (Resident of Tsum Valley) report that they have seen signs of  ‘Yeti’ or ‘Abominable Snowman’. Tsumba are the indigenous people of the valley. They practice Bon shamanism and Buddhism. Tsum valley comes under the manaslu conservation area. The Tsum valley is the sacred pilgrimage of Himalayan Buddhist. starting point of Tsum valley is just 7 hours of drive from kathmandu. The Tsum valley trek can be solo trek.it can be combined with manaslu trek. if you are fascinated with Tibetan Buddhist culture it is followed in Tsum valley.

Outline Itinerary

• Day 01 : Arrival Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
• Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu and trek preparation.
• Day 03 : Drive from kathmandu to macha khola via arughat (890m)
• Day 04 : Macha khola to jagat (2340m)
• Day 05 : jagat to chisopani (1660m)
• Day 06 : chisopani to chumling (2386m)
• Day 07 : chumling to chokhangparo (3010m)
• Day 08 : chokhangparo to nile (3361m)
• Day 09 : nile to mu gompa (3700m)
• Day 10 : mu gompa sightseeing.
• Day 11 : mu gompa to burgi village(3245m) via milarepa cave.
• Day 12 : burgi village to chumling (2386m)
• Day 13 : chumling to philim (1570m)
• Day 14 : philim to macha khola (970m)
• Day 15 : macha khola drive back to kathmandu.
• Day 16 : free day at kathmandu detox after trek.
• Day 17 : departure back home.
