Ganesh Himal is a sub-range of the Himalayas that mostly lies in north-central Nepal, some of the peaks lie on the border of Tibet., one of the less explored places of this region. this place is between the most popular Langtang to the east and Manaslu to the west. The Trisuli Gandaki valley on the east separates it from the Langtang valley; the Budhi (Buri) Gandaki valley and the Shyar Khola valley on the west separate it from the shringi Himal and the mansiri himal. The range lies about 70 km north-northwest of Kathmandu valley. A trek where you can explore the broad spectrum of cultures and natural sceneries on the splendor hidden valley. Named after the elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesh is usually depicted in the form of an elephant. This district offers untouched natural beauty and various wildlife, and views of the Peaks (Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV), Mount Manasalu, Tibet range, Langtang, and Annapurna.
Traveling through the Ganesh Himal area you get an opportunity to capture the picturesque view of mountains, waterfalls, Saint George, dramatic landscape painting, towering cliffs, and amazing rock formations. The highest peak in the range is Yangra (Ganesh I), 7,422 m (24,350 ft). There are three other peaks over 7000 meters plus some fourteen others over 6000 meters. Ganesh Himal enjoys great vertical relief over nearby valleys, particularly Ganesh II, being closest to the Shyar Khola. In fact, the south face of Ganesh IV slightly resembles an elephant, with a ridge that is reminiscent of an elephant’s trunk.
The first ascent of Ganesh I happened on October 6th, 1955. Summit group was conformed of famous guides Raymond Lambert, Pierre Vittoz, and Eric Gauchar, all of them Swiss, and French Mme. Claude Kogan.
