Mount Dhaulagiri, which rises from the Kali Gandaki River, is the seventh highest peak in the world. Separated from the Annapurna region by the deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki.
The Dhaulagiri region is considered to be one of the remote places in Nepal. Trekking to this region includes around fifteen peaks above 7000 meters. It is one of the most challenging treks which requires a great sense of adventure and an ability to deal with the unexpected.
Despite its difficulty, trekking to the Dhaulagiri region is one of the most popular camping treks in the western part of Nepal. This trekking trail is popular for the magnificent view of the snow-capped giants and a closer look at the Annapurna ranges en-route.
This challenging yet enthralling trekking usually begins from Beni, follows through the path along Myagdi Khola, and descends at Marpha. Alongside, it takes you through high alpine pastures and passes and serene and untouched valleys of the region.
You can gain a much better experience in February, March, and April through September, October and November when the sun is shining bright and you get a clearer view of the surrounding. This trek is not recommended during spring and winter due to excessive snow and ice conditions.
So if you’re willing to take up a challenge whilst exploring the natural riches of Nepal, this trek will be an ideal option for you.
