Badimalika Trekking, located in the bajura district in the sudur Paschim (far western) province of Nepal offers you the true flavor of the country, with its rich cultural heritage, green lush hills, snow-capped mountains, and many more. The glorious Badimalika temple being its most popular site to visit, the breathtaking view of Mt. Api (7132m) and Mt. saiphal (7169m) adds even more greatness to this trek. The Badimalika Trekking is mostly dedicated to visiting the Badimalika temple(goddess Bhagwati) is located at 4220m above sea level. according to Hindu scripture, Daksha Prajapati performed Yagya where he invited all the gods, except his son in law lord Shiva. Daksha spoke harshly against the lord when questioned by sati. sati jumped into the fire but the fire did not burn her body even after her death. lord Shiva on the demise of her beloved wife Sati Devi he then sent birabhadra and kali to end Daksha Prajapati and the ritual. lord, Shiva started to lament his wife’s death and traveled the earth bearing the dead body of Sati Devi on his back. then, lord Vishnu released his Sudarshan chakra wand wounded the body of Sati Devi, so that flies could rot her body. the places where Sati Devi’s body pieces fell were regarded as shakti peethas (energy centers) and considered essential sites to worship. her left shoulder fell in the mountain mallagiri. This peetha in mallagiri was called Mallika. The Mallika Chaturdashi festival is one of the major festivals celebrated here during the Nepali month of Bhadra. thousands of people from different parts of the country, as well as devotees from the neighboring countries of India, visit the temple on the auspicious day of Janai Purnima in the month of August.
khaptad national park is a protected area situated at the corner of four district bajhang, bajura, doti and achham., it is well known religious and beautiful site where late khaptad baba. a holy priest lived for 50 years. ,meditating and worshipping and become renowned spiritual saint. The park was built in 1984 on the advise of khaptad baba. it covers 225 sq. km area and ranges from 1400m and 3300m. the pilgrimage Triveni temple (3870m) a scared location at this place. the forest here is a mix of tropical and alpine vegetation. more than 150 species of wild grassland flowers and berries and over 200 species of herb plans unique to the Himalayas have been recorded in the area. over 266 species of resident and migratory birds and 20 mammals such as musk deer, black deer, barking deer, Himalayan large cats langur monkey and many others are also found in this region.
Badimalika Trekking region is a vary sacred place this place is connected with rama and roshan which is wetland present at 2927m above sea level. it is the land of 12 lakes and 18 patches of meadow, locally known as patan with stiff rocky cliffs. jingale lake is the largest lake with the shape of English alphabet “C” and taune is the smallest lake in this region. kinemine is the largest patan through which Kailash river flows. this place is surrounded by forest.
