Annapurna royal trek is a big part of the ultimate Himalayan adventure. Which offers the chance to get to know the locals intimately and experience their cultural hospitality. This trek is recognized as one of the world’s best trekking destination. You walk through scenic villages, rich oak, pine and rhododendron forests. Spectacular views of the giant snow-peaks- Annapurna I 8019m, Annapurna III 7555m, Gangapurna 7454m, and Machhapuchchhre 6999m.
why this trek is known as royal trek ?
Because Prince Charles and his 90 person crew had explored this less- touristic route at the beginning of eighties. The flora and fauna found in the region are Exotic. Beautiful Himalayan ranges, mesmerizing local culture, and tradition are the highlights of this region.
Annapurna royal trek is a moderate nature trek that starts at Phedi. A short drive of about 45 minutes from Pokhara. The trail leads through fascinating traditional villages. Gurung, Magar, and Thakali are local ethnic communities in this region. They will greet you very warmly if you cared to stop for a conversation.
The hike continues through dense rhododendron forest with towering snowy peaks in the background. The return walk is even more interesting as the trek winds around different ridges towards Ghorepani. Here witness breathtaking views of 180 degrees mountain Panorama. An early morning red halo sunrise is blissful. The first rays of the sunrise over the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna & Dhaulagiri Mountains are a joy.
The scenery throughout this trek graces the landscape of the Himalayas. Where imagination defines the beauty of nature as an experience that can never be forgotten. Annapurna royal trek will be even more interesting in spring. As the whole forest along the trail turns red, pink, and white with rhododendron flowers. One can hike this trek any time of the year except during the monsoons [July through August]. Spring and Autumn have a good flow of tourists to hike this trek.
