Ama Yangri trek is located something about 90km north of Kathmandu Valley which is the highest peak that is nearest to the Capital City Kathmandu. Ama Yangri is an area inhabited by Sherpas, Tamang, and Chhetri under Helambu Circuit trekking which is one of the famous destinations for travelers which lies in the Sindupalchok district under the Langtang National park. The region is a very famous place for Thanka arts.

Helambu is one of the most amazing and beautiful places of Nepal. The area is famous for its natural beauty and religious importance among Buddhists. Helambu can be optionally reached by a day drive and a short trek. The trek offers a diversity of luminous green valley, attractive glimpse of monasteries, snowy peaks along with the Tamang habitation and their local culture. Similarly, the trip offers you to see the scenic view of Langtang, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa and Panch pokhari along with the enchanting beauty of flora and fauna.

Trekking to Helambu is the easiest one due to its lower elevation which ranges from 800 to 3600m and comparatively with warmer temperatures.

Ama yangri trek is situated in the altitude of 3771m and the trek passes through some beautiful rhododendron, pine and oak forests. This trek can be immensely enjoyed in the Nepalese month of Chaitra, which more or less fall on the month of March or April. On the full moon day of Chaitra the Hyolmo from all around the region, country and abroad as well flock to Aama Yangri. As a part of the ritual, they climb to the summit of this mountain before daybreak and witness the sunrise. On one hand, the lamas pay homage to the mother protector by carrying out hours long prayer and on the other, the locals bask in the sun and enjoy butter tea, barley beer and local wine.

• day 02 : trek from tarkeghyang to ama yangri (4hours), same day return back.
• day 03 : trek from tarkeghyang to shermathang gaun
• day 04 : trek from shermathang gaun to melamchi, then drive back to kathmandu.
