Rolwaling Region
Rolwaling region trekking is considerably the most challenging trekking routes in Nepal. Rolwaling Valley is sometimes also called the Grave merely because of its location. It is located between steep giants of ice. Rolwaling tekking region stands in between other two famous trekking destinations of nepal, Langtang trekking region and Everest trekking region. Glorious view of Mount Everest and Mount Langtang can be seen during this trek. Trekkers will also have an opportunity to bless themselves with marvellous view of the Mount Gauri Shankher (7134 m.) Legends say that Yetis were once found at this place. There are very few tourists who have actually succeeded their trek in this area. Rolwaling trekking region consists of a pass between gigantic snowy mountains. The snow makes it difficult for any tourists to travel through for the Rolwaling trek. This trekking is a window to witness Nepal’s cultural and natural beauty. Other famous mount views like Mt. Dorje Lakpa, Mt. Melungtse and Mt. Tashi Lapcha can be witnessed from this trek. Beautiful waterfalls, Tso Rolpa lake, monasteries and wonderful landscapes are other attractions of Rolwaling Valley trek. Rolwaling Trek
Trekking to Rolwaling usually starts with an eight hour drive to Charikot from Kathmandu and takes you along the path to Tashi Lapcha. You will require some technical mountaineering skill and equipment at this point. From Tashi Lapcha you will continue the trek to Nepal’s largest glacier lake, Tsho Ropla and head to Khumbu region and finally reach Lukla from where you will fly back to Kathmandu. This trekking trail provides you with magnificent and jaw-dropping views of Mount Melungtse, Mount Dorje Lakpa, Mount Tashi Lapcha, Tsho Rolpa Lake and the breathtaking waterfalls, monasteries and landscapes.
